We use advanced filtering technology to find great deals on eBay, and when you make a purchase after clicking through our site (or one of our partner sites), we'll donate money to help stop global warming by purchasing carbon offsets. So you get a great costume, the planet gets a little help, and it doesn't cost you anything. The carbon offsets are paid for by eBay advertising revenue.
Now you might be wondering - what do Halloween costumes have to do with global warming? Well, nothing actually. But in 2006 the National Retail Federation estimated that nearly $5 billion would be spent on Halloween costumes. Imagine if just a small fraction of that money could be used to help our planet.
After seeing the good work done by sites such as Care2's Race to Stop Global Warming and other web sites that have helped web surfers make a difference without impacting their pocketbook, Cool Planet Costumes.com was launched in March 2008.
